Mission Statement:
"The Reynolds Institute for (Ministerial) Pastoral Education and Development
exists to provide the New England District Church of the Nazarene
with resources for the selection, training and development
of candidates for ministry, career ministers and lay church
leaders, in an environment compatible with the needs of multicultural
adult learners." (From the Constitution and Bylaws)
Background
Reynolds Institute was founded in
1998.
The Institute is named for Dr. Hiram
F. Reynolds, former pastor of the Haverhill, MA church and
distinguished General Superintendent of the Church of the
Nazarene.
Working under the supervision of,
and in cooperation with the District Ministerial Credentials
Board and Ministerial Studies Board, the Institute provides
the needed educational and praxis requirements necessary
for ordination on the New England District.
Quality of Instruction
The Reynolds Institute is a part
of the Alliance for Ministry working in cooperation with
the Nazarene Bible College, with approval of faculty and
use of the established syllabi. Students are provided with
guidelines for the compiling of an academic portfolio for
possible presentation to the Nazarene Bible College for
acceptance toward a degree program
